That's gorgeous, how insistent Dean is that he's alive, how much Sam wants but can't quite bring herself to believe.

Thank you! I'm so glad it worked for you. And yeah, Dean can't tell her, because she's so freaked out, words don't really work, but he can *show* her he's all right. Sigh.

Thanks! I'd been kicking the idea around since the episode aired, but it wasn't until this week that I figured out how to do it. I'm glad you liked it, and would love to be recced. Thanks again.

Beautiful! Everything that I love about Sam/Dean and girl!Sam wrapped up together in a gorgeous story. Makes me kind of wish it was canon...

Heh. I love Sam as he is, but yeah, sometimes I kind of yearn for Dean with a younger sister.

"Did I at least get to come first?" he asks, and the roughness of his voice belies the joke in his words.

Aw, Dean - aw, Sam. I love the title and I really enjoy your Sam pov. : )

This was so heartbreaking and beautiful. Mystery Spot was definitely an episode that called for a girl!Sam interpretation, and this was perfect.

I just loved the little reference to This One Laughing Quietly, too, and the skinny dipping (I was just writing a skinny dipping scene recently, and I'm sure it's the weather but I just can't get enough of the idea, so this was a thrill to read -- for that reason and so many more).

Thank you so much! I'd wanted to do a story like this since the episode aired, but it took me a while to figure out how.

I just loved the little reference to This One Laughing Quietly,

I know it's self-indulgent, but it amuses me, so I'm glad you picked up on it.

the skinny dipping (I was just writing a skinny dipping scene recently, and I'm sure it's the weather but I just can't get enough of the idea, so this was a thrill to read

Hee! Yeah, I always seem to come back to the skinny dipping or nightswimming scenario - it's kind of ridiculous how many of my stories end up taking place next to bodies of water. I'm sure it means something, but I'm not quite sure what. *g*

This One Laughing Quietly is quite possibly my favorite of all your girl!Sam fics. I think it makes for good continuity! ;)

it's kind of ridiculous how many of my stories end up taking place next to bodies of water. I'm sure it means something, but I'm not quite sure what.

I had a similar realization about my own fics and how many of them are centered around or include scenes at beaches, and figured I might as well make it a bit of a theme since I'd apparently already done so unconsciously, haha. In my case, though, I think it just means I don't get to the beach as often as I'd like (for some reason, sticking my feet in the kiddie pool just doesn't quite cut it).

Whatever the reason you keep coming back to those sorts of scenarios, though, I hope you keep it up because they're always such a wonderful read. :)

*nod nod*

I've written skinnydipping or nightswimming in almost every fandom I've been in, so I totally get that.

That's part of it, and also, I just really love the water and like having it nearby, so it makes sense to me that when I write them, the characters always end up by the water - I find it very comforting.
