i'm coming straight for your heart

Thank you for all the get well wishes (and Winchesters) - I do feel a ton better today, with occasional waves of nausea, but I'm mostly all right when I don't move too much. Luckily, I have a desk job. *g*

Thanks also to the people who said such nice things in the snaps cup meme the other night. I really appreciate it.

I am trying not to think of the possible trainwreck Friday Night Lights may become by concentrating really hard on Supernatural, where the few things I know (the two casting spoilers, the thing from the pictures I posted yesterday) leave me wary but optimistic (mostly because my expectations for SPN aren't particularly high, even after some of the awesome stuff last season; I am happy with Sam and Dean in the car, saving people, hunting things, with occasional face touching, lots of tough guy jazz hands, gratuitous car porn, and copious amounts of emoporn and banter, and I don't think any of those things are going to change), but I do have a wish list of things I'd like to see in season three.

This contains only one reference to the spoilers I mentioned above, so I'm cutting it, but is otherwise just a speculative wish list, and I do not wish to be spoiled for anything else, savvy? [eta] No, seriously, folks, I am not spoiled and would like to stay that way. [/eta]

1. Obviously, I want Sam to get Dean out of his deal.

2. Hendrickson (or however you spell it - could we get a canon spelling, please?) to slowly figure out that Sam and Dean are not the monsters; I'd like him to eventually have his own brush with the supernatural, mainly because I think it would be entertaining, and having him believe without it would ring false to me.

3. Bodyswap episode! The combined power of the internet is behind this one, and season 3 is a good time for it, and it's a classic genre trope. I can't imagine Kripke NOT doing it eventually. And you know Jared and Jensen would knock it out of the park. Plus, we'd get to see Jensen's version of Sam.

4. ORGAN STEALING. Come the fuck on, Kripke! Urban legends don't get any better than this! It could be supernatural; it could just be criminals! I don't care. I want people in bathtubs of ice with their kidneys missing and "Call 911" written on the tile in blood! It would be SO AWESOME! I'd write it myself if I could figure out how. (Also, jokes about demons with high cholesterol never get old. Seriously.)

5. Steve Wandell's daughter showing up, looking for revenge. I think this is an organic way to introduce both a female hunter and an adversary; I'm sure this is not what Ruby's big secret is, but I think it would be cool if it were. As a corollary to this, I would like hunters other than Gordon to be wary of the Winchesters, if not outright hostile. John obviously didn't make a lot of friends, and after Steve Wandell's death and Gordon's arrest, both of which ought to be easily traced back to the Winchesters, there should be some fall out.

6. Mary backstory. She knew the demon? Was she one of the other generations of psykids? When will Sam spill this (and the demon blood thing, which I'm less interested in, if only because it will lead to another round of Sam's "Am I evil?" angst, which I was hoping would be ended in the finale, but now we'll have "Did I come back wrong?" angst. Bah. Though I suppose as long as he doesn't engage in an abusive relationship with Spike, I'll deal.). I know JDM's budding movie career makes him hard to get, and the comic is allegedly taking care of backstory, but I don't consider that canon, so I want some more wee!Winchesters, but I'll take Mary backstory as well.

7. More Bobby, and more Ellen. And *crosses fingers* another appearance by Missouri. I would love to see Missouri again. Actually, I would also love to see someone they helped in season one come back, either as a newbie hunter (e.g., Kat) or to help them with the law (e.g., Deputy Kathleen).

8. Shirtlessness! Dean having lots of sex and us reaping the rewards of him being naked. Dean/girl = HOT and I would like more of that on my screen, please (specifically Katee Sackhoff, Eliza Dushku, and Charisma Carpenter, if the gods of the guest stars are listening). (Also, maybe Sam could sleep with someone who doesn't die? That'd be nice.) Also, we were denied one-on-one basketball, which was allegedly supposed to be in FPB. I want to see sweaty, competitive boys, preferably taking their shirts off, or at least lifting them up to wipe sweaty brows. (I swear, I'll only make shirtlifter jokes every other post.)

9. More info on Sam. What music does he like? (I still need to do that post, though I'm sure no one but me cares.) Why pre-law? Why soccer? How did he and Jess meet? We know Dean is a devotee of crappy horror movies and the oeuvre of John Hughes. Is Sam an art house film fan, when he's not watching hot girl-on-girl action on motel cable? Did he go to football games in college? Who's his favorite author? Also, I'd like to see him eat something on screen. I mean, I don't think he's a healthy eater so much as a finicky one (the way he wrinkles his nose at the prison chicken! when really, you'd think chicken fingers, which is what they looked like, would be pretty hard to screw up), but I'd like that confirmed. ALso, since he was pre-law, whatever that means in SPN-land, can we see him doing some lawyerin' and destroyerin', all dressed up in suit and tie and pretending to be Sam Winchester, Esq. Attorney-at-Law?

Actually, as a subpoint of that, I'd really like to see both of them have to wear suits for a whole episode. Or tuxes. Dean as cater waiter, in a white dinner jacket. Come on! It'd be hilarious!

10. More music with women's voices. Joan Jett. Chrissie Hynde. Janis Joplin. Heart. (this show was MADE for Heart. You know it's true!) Hole. Hell, Fleetwood Mac or Patsy Cline. Pat Benatar. Make Sam's love of angry chick rock canon! Or make Sam's sekrit love of Indigo Girls canon. I'd be happy either way.

11. Sam and Dean at the ocean. Also, in New York. I would bitch unceasingly about everything they got wrong, but I would still like it.

12. More cool older lady guest stars. They do really well with cool older lady guest stars. Would Jamie Lee Curtis do TV do you think? Could they afford her? Lena Olin. Mary McDonnell. Allison Janney. Melissa Leo. Gina Torres. Not that she's an older lady, just that she'd kick ass. Gillian Anderson, too. Surely it's been long enough since the X-Files for her to consider it.

13. I'd like to see them get a chance to be happy, just a small amount of downtime where they are free of the weight of the world. Preferably after Sam saves Dean from his deal.

Wow, that was fun. I don't think I'm going to get any of these things, but a girl can hope. *g*
