let all the dreamers wake the nation

I'm mostly enjoying reading everybody's reactions to HP:TDH, mostly because if someone is saying they didn't like it, I am not clicking on their cut-tag. I'm not commenting much or answering comments because of the technology problems here, and I'm also not memorying all the reaction posts like I did with HBP, mostly because of technology but also ( Read more... )

Some people in fandom think that having a baby means you're incapable of doing anything else. Morons.

Luna/Draco would've been totally cool. She would've been good for him.

I find myself wondering whom Draco did marry, after all. Presumably not Pansy Parkinson, because Harry knows her perfectly well and would've said "Pansy Parkinson" instead of "his wife."

And Scorpius/Rose is clearly meant to be. Draco will have to come to the Burrow for holiday dinners and wear a Weasley sweater, and it will be the funniest thing ever.

But of course Harry knows Luna as well, so that scotches that theory. (And yeah, I noticed that she wasn't named also.) Which is a pity, because I agree, Luna/Draco would be totally cool.

True, Luna/Draco would work only as an AU. Still, even in canon there's plenty of room for fun speculation about how Draco ended up married to somebody Harry doesn't know by name. Someone brom Durmstrang or Beauxbatons? Someone significantly older or younger? A Muggle? Inquiring minds want to know. :-)

That's what I think. Apparently JKR has changed her mind about nixing Neville/Luna, because in her recent interview she said she thought she could see it, and I'd be all over that.

I like the spec that he's on his third wife, and she's, like, fifteen years younger, so of course Harry doesn't know who she is.

Yes! Who is writing me this story?

I like that we don't see what happens to Luna, it leaves the options open for one of the more interesting characters in the series- but yeah, I've had some Draco/Luna thoughts myself.

Although, you know, with a nineteen-year gap and no kids right away, there's still totally the possibility that Harry and Luna dated at some point. I just like the thought of the next five years of H/G being very on-again off-again.

And I agree that Remus's behavior was totally believable- he's pathologically avoidant when he's afraid of letting people down, PoA should have taught everyone this. I'm glad I'm not the only one who sees it.

Well, there's a lot of people who think he's a saint, you know? Who like to forget his behavior in PoA. I think it was totally in character; I just didn't like *seeing* it.

I do not understand the accusations that Hermione and Ginny were turned into baby machines

People are actually saying this?

B/c five kids between two adult women = baby machines.

My God. We really will wank about anything, won't we? *eyeroll*

Yes. It's fandom. You should know to expect idiocy.

I was just thinking after reading the book that after Sirius died, a lot of Remus's fire just sort of faded away, and he just went along with the flow of whatever was going on. Sadly, the push at him from Tonks herself and everyone else was just part of the going with the flow, and nothing broke through that until she got pregnant and he freaked.

I want to know what happened to Luna. I want to know more about James. I want to know what they do now that the war's over. :p

Yeah, he didn't have anyone to call him on his behavior, either, until Harry did it, which snapped him right out of it. I'm sure James and Sirius used to do that for him all the time.
