[The small library was rather out of the way of main traffic and the state of it showed as much. Cobwebs covered more than one bookcase, dust heavy on some of the uncovered couches, and the fireplace deader than anyone in this place stayed. There was only one candle lit, a taper that had pretty much burned down most of the way and only had an hour'

[It didn't matter how much Aiden told himself to just keep stepping past the door to the library, that scent just kept calling him back. This was a terrible idea. A very terrible, and delicious idea.]

[There's a nose touching the back of Chase's neck now. Not cold, but breathing in rather deep.]

[At first he didn't even realize what was even touching the back of his neck. Thinking it a spider that wanted to make him part of its web, Chase brushed at it.

Then he came into contact with something more than a spider. The Crow started and turned, pushing away from the table at the same time as he stood. An attempt to get whatever it was behind him in front of him so he could attack.

He just stopped when he saw who it was.] Jesus, Aiden! Are you trying to give me a heart attack?

[Easily dodges the attempt to grab him, and tugs the hood of his cloak down a little further. There's a glint in his eye, a glowing ember in the dark of the hood.]

Yer heart's fine.

[You know, it's only after he exclaims that he realizes he said Aiden's name. He told himself he'd never say it again, at least when speaking to the vampire, and blames it on the shock of the moment.

That glow isn't the most comforting thing, especially at half power and with things the way they are. He doesn't want Aiden finding out anything about that incident.

His left hand rises stiffly to rub at the scar around his heart.] Doctors said it was. [A pause] What is it you need?
