I saw the 300 this weekend, at a 'midnight' showing at IMAX.  The highlights:

1.  It was so warm and nice out that night!  I was wearing a light sweater and jeans, and I was almost too hot at midnight.  Though by 2:30, it was a bit chilly.  And by 5, I was ready to curl up in a blanket.

I was sick in an odd way this weekend.  Basically I got really dizzy without feeling lightheaded, and nauseous with random stabbing ear pains.  So I stayed home on Friday, more becuase the world was still moving when I woke up, and I didn't like the thought of explaining to some family that I hit and killed their mom because while I felt fine ( Read more... )

Interview tomorrow with a company that makes and develops animal (and some human) vaccines.  I hope I do well, and that they do interesting things, and that if they offer me the job, then it will be worth the commute into Woodland....!  :D

...but I am adding this one point:  Peter Murphy sings "Bela Lugosi's Dead," for the first five minutes, and while that doesn't redeem the travesty of this film, it did sucker me into believing that the movie might eventually pick up.

I guess this could be in the Vampire Subcategory, as there must be even worse movies out there, but this one is pretty damn awful.

Last night, the roomies and I were watching crappy TV, when we came across TLC.  They were showing a documentary on primordial dwarves.  Mildly disturbing, because these are the smallest proportional dwarves, with the smallest one we saw being 2'3" and 16 pounds (and aged 16), and the tallest being 3'9" and 34 pounds (age 43).  They all sounded ( Read more... )

I just made my vacuum cleaner smoke.  Not just smell like smoke, but have it coming out of the carpet roller in puffs.  Wow.  Now my room smells bad (worse?).   Solution:  fan + scented candle.
