I was thinking that the guy is a college student, and he randomly ran into her, and since she seemed lost and confused, he decided to help her out, which led to them becoming friends

This girl in her normal 'verse is an alien child who her father passed off first as being his and then as being half human. Her real dad is still looking for her, but her mom died; that's when the guy who raised her abducted her. She works at a place called the Zone, which is a very, very hidden facility in the middle of Manhattan kind of like the MIB except most of the people working there are aliens or half-human. If she'd work, I'd love to have a place to put her.

Awesome! I'm on vacation right now, but I am online sometimes. So any threads I miss that Iris should tag, just poke me.

It's also very late and hopefully the plotting part of my brain will be working better in the morning. Iris won't be too fussed about the human/alien relationship in the making, but she will be concerned about telling the human.
