I'm not sure how much deeper his magic might be than David Bowie Jareth's, but maybe she's big into music? Like, a vocalist or something. And she loves it more than anything but the pressure from her parents and the competition is too stressful for her so she wishes she'd lose her singing voice forever...

Cue goblin magic, cue desperation to be able to sing again, go from there?
