Oh, I am so very very tempted to give you a Jane!

How did you envision things changing with the modern setting? I can see Jane as having had a very strict Christian upbringing, and basically growing up with the Reeds in a horrible environment and having to work her own way through university until she gets the job at modern-Thornfield...?

I would LOVE a Jane!!! :D

*nods* That's exactly how I see it. As long as you can convey the message that she hasn't seen love in her life, no one who cared for her and no family to speak of! Whatever you feel, she would be your character after all! :)

I'd be tempted by an Adele possibly, if you haven't got one already. What would the story be for her exactly, like what were you thinking?

I do not have one and I would love that! I'm pretty flexible as to what age you want to play Adele at. Something young when Jane is teaching her or something older...her late teens, early twenties would be interesting too. I was thinking pretty similar to the original where he is in love with Adele's mother who then leaves him with the child. He brought her to London with him and she went to private school (under the tuition of Jane) rather than public. He did not want her to be distracted by boys and possibly get teased for being different. That's just my general view of course she would be your character so you can shape her whatever way you wanted to.

Yay! Well I was thinking she'd probably be younger, since you've got a Jane that's going to be teaching her. How old is Rochester supposed to be by the way, I can't remember how old he's supposed to be in the book. I know Jane's about 18 if I remember right, so Adele might be somewhere between eight and ten maybe?

I could see her being pretty close to the original Adele, very quiet and not really very sociable, since I'm guessing she's been kept away from other children and such.

That sounds perfect to me! Mr Rochester is around...well, I think he is in his late thirties? That's what I'm going for anyway for this SL. Yes, I imagine her around 10 the same age as Jane was when she left to go to boarding school.

Agreed. The original Adele was very into her appearence and impressing everyone, like her mother was before her.
