Beautifully written; the description was so palpable I could see this in my mind. I think you did a great job of describing how Brian might have been feeling. I will never forget the look on his face and the way he gazed into Justin's eyes afterward by the jeep before he kissed him. I think it was so obvious that he was in love with him. What a horrible culmination to such a beautiful, magical night between them; the devastation on Brian's face at the hospital spoke volumes of how much he cared about Justin. Thank you for sharing this story with us.:) *Hugs*

Thanks so much, Kimberly! I wish we'd gotten more of the bashing and its aftermath, tbh. There's a lot of ways you could interpret Brian and his feelings at this time, but I definitely think that the prom sealed the deal on his love for Justin. He wouldn't have shown up otherwise. And that hospital scene at the end of 1.22 is so heartbreaking. I can only imagine what was going through Brian's head.
