On The Road To Recovery & Painting The Entire Time

Feb 20, 2005 13:34

I may feel and look like death warmed over, but I'm not letting it get in the way of the commission. Staci- don't worry your pretty little head. Here are some pics I snapped before stopping for a quick lunch break.

make sure you get some rest too cutie pie.

that is what I am doing now, the moving, hauling and organizing, only to have to move something again somewhere else is a little exhausting. Gonna go back in a while thoguh.

Awww...Thank you so much! I needed to hear an encouraging word. I feel like I'm fighting an uphill battle and am about to flip out!!! Painting while recovering from the Super Flu sucks. I have such little energy, but the fresh juices and a bit of coffee are fueling my creative ideas and moving me forward.

So happy to hear that you got the supplies for juicing! You'll LOVE it! :-) When I juice the fennel, I just use the bulb part of it- not the stems and leafy parts. I use red delicious apples for juicing, but was thinking today that crisp and tart granny smiths would be good too. When I make Apple/Fennel/Celery juice- Per glass of juice- I use 1 apple, 1 stalk of celery and about a 1/4 section of the fennel bulb. It's a good balance for all of the flavors. (I had carrot and fennel juice for breakfast today- That's good too!)

I'm proud of you for getting your studio cleaned up! Now just be careful on that rickety ladder of yours!!!

thanks sweetie...
not cleaned up, consolidated. If i don't get all that stuff into one room I'll be kicked out, and as you can see there is absolutely no way I coudld get it all in the house.
which, i wish i could.

make sure you rest.

I got some macs, though I thought granny smiths would be good too.

OMG! This is turning out to be just incredible! It looks like being sick has not interfered with your production, much less your artwork, at all. I still LOVE the circular "moon" sections!! Even the colors that you are using are just my style! Keep drinking that fennel combination, sweetie...it is producing some spectacular results!!

Thank you very much! :-) Yes- the big circle is the best part of the grid. My client came up with the idea for it. I'm glad that she did- it really pulls all of the sections together into a whole painting. Nice! I'm getting impatient, waiting for these layers to dry. Must... move forward...so many layers so little time...

Wow. Holy crap Lisa. I seriously hope to see you do another one of this size and put it up on ebay. I bet you could make a freaking fortune! I think my favorite single canvas is the one in the first picture just to the left of the circle combo. It looks like red shattered glass. Very cool. And the big circle is just amazing.

Not that you need any more ideas or anything, but if you took a grid and did a layering of shapes with each shape having a certain texture and color and where they overlap, the tetures and colors blend. That sounds very cool and I bet you could pull it off. You could actually do it as a large 3 panal piece.

Man - I need to build a new house with more room for art on the walls *grin*

Thank you Lisa. It's amazing to see something like this and know it's mine *sighing happily*

You rock girl
