I love your Zinnias, they are so bright. Lots of tomatoes soon too. Are you having alot of problems with Japanese beetles? Ours are really bad this year, eatting everything in site. I need to get my powder out.

The beetle population isn't as bad as it was last year. They're mostly interested in my Lillies and are leaving everything else alone. As long as they stay away from my tomatoes, I'm okay with having a few buzzing around my garden.

Is that powder you're using organic?

it is crushed diatoms so yes it is organic. I can't remember where I got it, a big bottle goes a long way. I have had this a couple of years and still have plenty. It is good(of bad) for slugs too.

It's wonderful, isn't it? The garden is my favorite place to be... especially right after it rains. :-)

Thanks Wendy! I love those up close pics A LOT too! The camera sees so much more detail...it's like rediscovering the flower all over again. :-)

I took some close ups of a bumblebee on one of the zinnias today. I'll crop and share it in a day or two.

I think my Grandma used to grow Zinnias too. They're kind of an old fashioned flower. I love them and am so happy my local nursery had them on sale. They are now a garden must have for me! They also do quite well, cut and placed in vases- the last for several days- so pretty to bring my garden inside.
