My Space

Jul 09, 2006 14:44

I've noticed a trend lately...a lot of people jumping the Livejournal ship and going to different blogging websites. We've had an account with Myspace for almost a year and haven't done anything with it...until today. I've been over at Myspace, figuring things out. I don't plan on making it my PRIMARY blog, though. I still LOVE Livejournal! ;-) So ( Read more... )

I only wish I had found that CD years ago... I could have really used it even more back then because I was going through a lot of grieving and it would have been a PERFECT soundtrack for channeling all of that raw emotion!

I'm still loving it now...it's helping to sweep away years worth of negative emotional residue. She is so STRONG, WISE & HEALING when she sings! :-)

Poe is AMAZING! I really recommend getting her brothers book House of Leaves to peruse while listening to her music!

I was already looking at House Of Leaves...looks interesting! :-)

If there's any other singers you know of, who are up on her level, then PLEASE share them with me! It freaks me out, that I let this one slip through the cracks for this long? Why am I just finding out about this amazing woman?

I'm in complete agreement about Poe and The House of Leaves...does she have a page on MySpace or is it a fan site or what?

The My Space account is run by her. I surfed over to it from her website. :-)

Her music has never really agreed with me, but a mutual friend has informed me that she is a delightful human being.

Years ago, I probably would have thought her music was too edgy and hard to listen to...but now I have an open mind about music and my tastes have become more varied. ;-)

From what I've read of her writings on her blog and website, she does seem delightful and very self aware/evolved. :-)

Mingus is edgy and hard to listen to (and I love Mingus). Poe isn't very different from Fiona Apple (and I don't mean that in any sort of bad way). For what it's worth, I really like Joni Mitchell. But Tori Amos, not so much.

Hmmmm...Saying "Poe and Fiona Apple" in the same breath doesn't seem all that fair. Fiona is more like Teeny Bop Pop...stick her with Avril Lavigne, but not with Poe! ;-)

Poe is amazing! I saw her in Dallas a few years back opening for Depeche Mode. It was one of the highlights of the "Dark Dallas Years"

I was VERY surprised, when I found out that she had been touring with Depeche Mode...just seems like an odd pairing. I get it, in a way though...the darkness and experimental sampling is on a similar wavelength.

I've heard that she puts on a GOOD show! You're soooo LUCKY! :-)
