wow...to both the painting and the quote!

if it's not a trade secret, what do you use for texture? your pieces have such a...i dunno...mineral-like?...quality to them.

Trade-secret...LOL... Hmmmm...Maybe I have pet Scarab Beetles building texture for me!?!?!?!???? ;-)

Seriously though- I use everything I can get my hands on- and push it hard...sculpt it in strange and bizarre ways, use weird tools- both natural and manmade, to make imprints and build up the 3-d effects. Some of my favorite "textural toys" are- gel medium, modeling paste, thick layers of paint and sand. Liquitex and Golden make really fun texture gels, using real minerals like crushed garnets and mica in them.

I also get that "mineral effect", using experimental painting techniques that I've discovered over the years...it's all about building up the layers...and there's a lot of metallics and INTENSE pigment color-washes involved.

Ringing/Twisting Hands= A good thing? Do these words frustrate or enlighten you?

once again i'm running all overmyself not to say "I told you so" but this time to anyone who has ever told me that I think to much or dwell. They always say i'm wrong but every once in a while something like this surfaces and says otherwise.

Go ahead and say "I told you so"....if it makes you feel better- then by all means- Let it out.

Are you trying to say that I told you that you "think too much/ dwell on things."? I gave you the analogy of the dog chasing its tail only because I do it myself...which is fine...it doesn't matter if the dog ever catches its tail. The important thing is that the dog has fun and learns a thing or two while circling after that tail! ;-)

Anyways...if you think I said you "were wrong"...that wasn't my point. I was just making observations..not trying to be mean or put you down.
