Okay, now this makes me mad.

I just found out that Muse are playing in Toronto AGAIN, on September 9th at the new "Virgin Mobile Festival", or "V Fest", as it's being called by hip industry executives, on the Toronto Islands. Sounds good, right? Okay, now listen to this ( Read more... )

day one is an infinity times better, plus, not all the day one bands have been announced so far.

and AoF rock so hard, as well as most every other band on that day.
Just because you haven't heard of them, or are too pretentious to consider them doesn't mean they suck.

by the way, i don't want to seem pretentious myself.
the last sentence wasn't simply aimed at AoF, it was aimed at every other band on the bill.
i checked out a few of the smaller bands playing saturday and was very impressed with many of them, most notably Pheonix and Wintersleep.
I've seen Alexis once already, Gnarls once as well, and Muse twice.
I can't wait to see the lips, I respect that many people do, in fact, like Buck 65 ( ... )

Just going to say Edgefest back when it was still held in Barrie along with Warped Tour runs for about the same price for a one day festival and at least Vfest includes the fare for using the ferry to get to the island. Secondly, The Flaming Lips, Razorlight, Gnarles Barkley, Starsailor, Kid Koala, and Alexisonfire is a pretty damn good line up alongside Muse, lol. Thirdly, blame other 'bigger' bands for touring out their albums which make it harder for them to come to other concerts that are too far off the schedule of their own tours, I don't doubt that the Virgin peeps did try to get some of those bands it just didn't work out. We should actually be happy Muse can make it to Toronto's stop ( ... )

I have checked out Alexisonfire, many times, as I have quite a few friends who like them, and I still think they're terrible. No melody whatsoever. Most of the other bands on the list, such as Razorlight and Gnarls Barkley and The Dears and Wintersleep, I have indeed heard of and listened to, and don't paticularly think them any better than mediocre (Gnarls Barkley does seem talented though). Most of my gripe is with the price of this concert. I'm not trying to influence anyone to like MY paticular type of favourite music (I don't even have a paticular type anyway. Certain things strike my fancy and certain things don't, and that's about it). All I think is that if a music festival with 40+ bands charges $57.50, and more if you go to both days, it had damn well better have more than a handful of good acts. I love Muse, but this isn't worth it for me.

By the way, I think I'm allowed to rant wherever I please. I don't see a "No Rants Allowed" sign on this club's main page.

It's not the greatest festival ever but I'm still going. Can't miss Muse.
