Oh my. That's so lovely. I normally don't ship Topher/Claire, but I do believe you've just made it work. :) Your fic is so lyrically written and so, so sad. I love it.
I don't watch too much of Epitaph One because every time I do, without fail, I cry at the end.
I really, really like this story, but I dunno if I can read it again for a while.
Topher's decent into madness and their weird little relationship was spot on, and I felt for them both to the point where I started crying right at the last section and didn't stop.
I appreciate the attention to detail and your connections between what we saw in E1 (Topher's modification of the chair, is a well crafted example), especially because the time find myself fascinated by is the-right-after-hollow-men-but-before-the-tech-gets-loose peroid of time.
+1 for making me sob like a child all over again.
(I'm a bit of a font snob, so sometimes there is no higher praise I can say to someone.)
That's the part of the timeline I'm most interested in, too. A lot of people have been writing for the time between Epitaph One and Two, which is also interesting, but I wish a little more attention was shown to this era.

Really glad you liked it, and I'm pleased to have evoked a similar reaction to the episode.
(Also, I have a friend in graphic design, and that icon is fantastic.)
