Today he posted this excerpt from the book "How to Win a Fight with a Conservative" by Dan Kurtzman. I admit I don't have permission to post it here, but if it's any consolation to the author, I plan on buying ( Read more... )

Remember that cat poo production increases by a complex equation. I think it is something like this:

Where:
Pt=Total Poo
Pc=Poo per cat.
X=Number of cats

Pt=(X*Pc)+(Pc-1)

So one cat produces 1 Pc poo. But two cats produce as much as three individual cats. Four cats produce as much as 7 individual cats.

In our case with seven cats in the house we produce as much cat crap as thirteen houses with one cat each.

My sis has 3 cats who happily all get along and happily share one overworked litter box. When we had our 3 cats, a couple years ago, we got the 3rd because our cat was picking on our roomie's older cat so much, we thought she needed a younger cat friend to play with and give him a break. Problem was, our first cat continued to pick on our roomie's cat and ended up picking fights with the new cat instead of making friends. As a result, we ended up with 3 unhappy cats, who then proceeded to cause all sorts of litter problems. One fight over who could use the litter box, and suddenly the new cat is looking for other places to go. Getting a 2nd little box helped that some, but that inital battle caused all kinds of territory marking between them, which we tried and tried to resolve without success. We ended up giving away the kitten, and now without a roomie, we're down to just our one bitchy cat ( ... )
