Merde, I yet breathe! In the last two weeks, I've driven to Pennsylvania in three days and flown back. This is after co-throwing Arizona's largest spoken word festival and saying goodbye to too many people I've loved in my fierce curled-claw way. On the spontaneous roadtrip, I was able to see my lovely Chicago, if only for a few stolen hours, ( Read more... )

I am not sure where video is if it exists. I have pictures, but not video yet.

Thank you for the warm, wonderful welcome!

you do so make this gypsy restless *smiles* Is Chicago as grey as it always seems in the photos? Or does it flash rainbows and diamondstars when seen reflected in your eyes? I miss my city too, Melbourne--the fourth world--cold and silver and so full of underground art and muse-whisperings, ah...
in my world it's little sleep and novel editing, heh. but I love it, my soul is made for that. oh, and a heartfriend spoke to me about a video of slam poetry he stumbled across on youtube somewhere, admired the raw power and intensity, and I thought at once of you. he's yet to send me the link though...
it would be good if you could share something like that with those of us living vicariously in sun-bleached sleepy cities on the other side of the world, like someone else already requested *winks* I'd love to see it too.

Sounds like you had a great trip!

I've always wanted to visit the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago.

It was a great trip, despite all the mishaps. I wouldn't trade it for the world.

As far as the Museum of Science and Industry, I hate to say it, but it sounds neater than it actually is. I'd much rather have a romp in the Field Museum. Museum of Science and Industry is the least interesting of the many museums in Chicago.

The attraction for me would be Colleen Moore's Dollhouse.

I hope my revisit to Chicago is as good as yours! I miss that city something fierce.

Come to Austin!

I so miss Chicago. I think that I always will. Going there, I remembered how bloody fantastic it is in the springtime and fall. No other city can compare to Chicago during those two seasons.

Funny you should mention Austin! My best friend and I listed it as a city we'd live in. The poetry scene there is reportedly amazing.

In returning to my state, I've been reading your coming-out letter and want to say that you made me cry a little. You're amazing and brave and just lovely. When I came out to my family as a woman who dates men and women, my doing it wasn't nearly as graceful as your letter is. I have all the hope in the world that it'll turn out well for you. I suspect your family has their own suspicions. That's often how it is. Maybe the answering of their internal questions will help put any unease they might have to rest. Here's hoping, anyway.
