I still have them and wear them. The coolest thing is we (Michi, Imala, and I) found them at a little thrift store for CHEAP! If my feet weren't so big, I'd offer to share. I'm pretty sure you've got way tinier feet than me.
Thanks for the rest. I've got a few more coming. The pictures are making me smile and crack up all over. I HAD BAD HAIR MY WHOLE LIFE. That's what I've learned from this.
I believe that this is when our paths first crossed....or thereabouts. I hadn't thought about M. in quite a long time until about 2 weeks ago, strangely enough. I hope she is doing well....?
This is a truly wonderful project, J. Thank you for sharing it. I thought once to do something vaguely similar, but opted to let ghosts remain ghosts. My past is riddled with doors that, their lessons having been learned in blood and viscera, should not be darkened again.
Or so I believe. Perhaps I should revisit it, and attempt to determine if there is any value in such.
Before I ramble more, I salute your efforts, here. ;)
Thank you, my friend. Also, I got your contact info, but I've been super-busy.museFebruary 14 2007, 02:16:46 UTC
Yes, this is about the time when our paths crossed. It's really funny/cool how people keep commenting on that. I had no idea how many people I met during the time that I was getting involved with Michi. It's quite cool to consider. :-)
And thanks for the kudos on the project. It's revealing. Sometimes, these posts don't show me in the most positive light; however, remembering all the love and having these pictures go along with some of the stories really is like going through a scrapbook. Giving these to an audience is an act of love. I'd love to hear other people's stories, too. I get curious about people and what they were before I knew them.'
There is value in opening locked doors. Some of these people were my ghosts, now my friends, always my teachers. There will be more posts, but not until Thursday or so. Tomorrow, I perform at the St. Valentine's Day Massacre in Mesa. I want to be on my game. Tonight, I'm finishing one of the pieces I'll read. It's about my most recent experience with love.
I love her photographs. Granted, these were candids, rather than art photographs. I like that they are not meant to be anything more than a moment captured.
I miss her photographs and words, too. It's amazing, though, that I can tell her, "I need you, Michi" and she finds a way to materialise for me. She's just busy with a new baby and a little one and husband and all.
You seem very interesting. I'd love to be friended. Will add you and you can check me out and add if you like. Thanks :) P.S. Found you through ninya's journal.

And trust me, my hair is, was, and always will be bad. I mean, it could have been worse, but . . . yep.
