Sigh...we just saw Eragon this afternoon, and believe me when I say that the movie absolutely butchers the plot of the book. Butchers!
But please go ahead and read the books, they are wonderful. I seriously hope that in a few years another movie will come out that does the story justice.

yeah i kind of figured that there was some major plot problems, what with them saying in the early parts of the movie that the dragon could "not hold a flame yet" and yet at the end of the movie could magicly start spewing flames....
Personally I have problems when I see some movie dragons because in my opinion there arn't many that are right or even close, though I am relant on what I first thought of dragons as, such as smaug from the hobbit.
these had feathers which bothered me alot, as that makes them seem like freaking birds not the reptiles that they are, that and the speed that the dragon matured at, I can understand from hatchling to welp to young adult, but they just don't mature over night like that....
that and the movie looked like it was something that should have happend over a few years or months even, not the 10 some days that everything happened in.
but I should be going out tomorrow to find me a copy of the books with my "christmas bonus" from walgreens.
Compared to the book, Eragon BLEW CHUNKS. Seriously, they took so many stupid creative liberties that Kari and I were WTF'ing throughout the entire thing, the worst of which being when Eragon was trying to teach mini-Saphira to fly and she suddenly soars up into the clouds and miraculously becomes completely full-grown in about five seconds.
Yeah, she definitely grew up on her own over time in the book and Eragon was the one who gave her the name Saphira. WTF.
wow that really is fucked up, now I think I can read the book with a bit more pleasure, with my newly given work hours tomorrow (which gets me into the holiday pay hours for christmas) I should be going out to borders to pick me up a copy.
