Today is a grey, grey day. I'm not sure if this is a good or a bad thing. I was getting kind of used to brilliant blue skies and sunshine, but on the other hand the tree pollen may be less of an annoyance. I have definitely gone into hayfever mode for the summer, which basically means that the histamines make me groggy and it's even harder than ( Read more... )

My friends are so well-travelled ... *feels provincial* Has Krycek been to most of those places with you?

There are three releases I'm really looking forward to in July, and I guess it says a lot that the one I'm waiting for most eagerly is the new CH album on July 2? It's going to be an exciting month, anyway! :)

Krycek's condescended to accompany me to several of the places on the list. Mostly he missed out on the New York stuff (which I did on a last-blowout-trip-before-getting-a-mortgage before he was born), and most of the theme parks, which happened earlier in the year I acquired him.

Here's a list of the places that he's been to. This time around italics indicate places that he might have visited, although I have no photographic evidence and can't remember whether I popped him in my bag or left him back at the hotel. The others are all definites though.

2. National Mall & Memorial Parks, Washington, D.C. (Washington Monument, Lincoln and Jefferson Memorials, the war memorials): About 25 million (well, obviously...)
4. Trafalgar Square, London, England: 15 million
6. Niagara Falls, Ontario and New York: 14 million
7. Fisherman’s Wharf/Golden Gate National Recreation Area, San Francisco, Calif.: 13 million
9. Notre Dame de Paris, Paris, France: 12 million (in case I needed him to keep the hunchback at bay)
12. The Great Smoky Mountain ( ... )

I have booked the week after the release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows as vacation time though, just to make absolutely sure I wasn't going to have to work that weekend.

That is hard core. *salutes*

Probably a good idea. I had to work the day HBP came out and it sucked.

It's actually desperation. I also had to work the day HBP came out, and had to spend the weekend of OotP's release at a family reunion. I'm trying to stop history repeating itself yet again.

Plus, you know, I want to be able to stop averting my eyes from the internet while it's still July.

I feel completely ashamed to admit that the only place of those listed that I've ever been to is this:
29. National Gallery, London, England: 4.6 million

I might have passed beneath Trafalgar Square on the tub, though. ;)

Also, if I had to list 10 places I would like to visit, there would be two at the most coming from that list. Bad Lucie or individualist Lucie?

I may take myself off somewhere sunny and pleasant for a few days, along with my book.

Our area here is known to be one of the sunniest parts of Germany. Just thought I'd mention it, as our garden has seen a lot of HP reading already...
