Fact One: You know how in The Wrath of Khan, Khan's objective was to hurt Kirk as badly as possible?  And he specifically mentions Lt. McGyvers, or at least alludes to her death when he tells Kirk this.

So, inference numero uno: Khan at some point fell in love with McGyvers.  He feels this is the worst thing that Kirk had done to him.

Fact Two: Spock ( Read more... )

*hugs* I think I know why my novel this year has such a big LGBT sub-theme/catalyst/etc; I'm finally willing to say "Okay, I'm all for consensual any-sexual relationships, it's non-sense-making to hate things that are different, here is why." Sure, all of my non-school work since I was in seventh grade has had some kind of slash implied, mentioned, or focused on, but it's always just been "Welp, I think such and such and so and so would make a good/funny/dramatic/romantic/cracky couple, so I shall write them."

Kudos to you for wanting to put yourself out there and get your voice heard! <3

The recent spate of suicides making the news is horrifying and utterly heartbreaking. It's sickening to know that that kind of casual cruelty exists. So I'll certainly be participating in Wear Purple day on the 20th. Thanks for pointing it out! I always find out about these things too late. I shall be sure to spread the word. It's not much, but it's something.

Have you done NaNo before? I'm still undecided on whether I'm going to do it this year or not, but I very much like the sound of your plot!

Thanks!

I did NaNo last year - I got to 42k before I got stuck on this smooshy het love scene that took three months to write.
