SO MUCH HAS OCCURRED SINCE MY LAST POST.

Okay, so let's go by subject matter:

1. SHERLOCK HOLMES.  I saw the movie for the first time over the weekend, and it took everything in me to not squee and fangirl in front of my father and my brother.  Holmes was trying to screw up Watson's engagement.  AND WATSON FUCKING CALLED HIM ON IT.  I feel a little ( Read more... )

SHERLOCK MOTHERFUCKING HOLMES YEEESSS!! OH GOOD GOD YES, READ EVERYTHING, READ IT ALL, IT IS ALL BRILLIANT AND AMAZING.

Okay. Okay. *breathes* I'm okay. Just geeking out a little.
I would highly recommend reading at least the first few chapters of A Study in Scarlet for their meeting (the second half gets a little... exposition-y).
Erm, definitely read The Hound of the Baskervilles, because it's amazing and awesome and features a slighty-hurt Watson who's a little mad at Holmes.
As for short stories... well, I'd just say READ THEM ALL. But there are a few which stand out in my mind: The Speckled Band is pretty cool, and Charles Augustus Milverton features BAMF Watson wielding a chair and some cat-burglaring (with masks!). The Devil's Foot is amazing (also, the radio play is adorably sweet). The Six Napoleons has a lovely Holmes moment at the end, as does The Yellow Face, and there's a beautiful moment in The Naval Treaty. The Solitary Cyclist has a great-but-unseen BAMF Holmes moment, and there's a BAMF Holmes AND Watson moment in ( ... )

I LOOOVE BRUUCE :D
I've been to 2 of his concerts and it is awesome. If you like his music and you ever get the chance, I'll definitely recommend going to one. It's a lifechanging experience. Seriously.

I also love Sherlock Holmes. The new movie was sort of ish disappointing to me for some reason. I think it might be the weak (imo) villain. Idk. It's pretty awesome nonetheless.

Do you happen to know if there's an online downloadable version of that Trek book? :D

I got it off Amazon for Kindle - It's absolutely fantastic, as I've undoubtedly said fifty gazillion times...

I'm another one who seriously needs to read the Sherlock Holmes books. I've seen so many movie/TV adaptations, but I've still not actually read one. I seriously need to remedy that soon. I'm kinda undecided how I feel about the new Holmes movie. There were bits of it I loved, especially the Holmes/Watson relationship, but on the whole I just felt... I dunno... really underwhelmed by it. And I don't even know why.

Great to hear your Big Bang's still chugging away. Woooo! :D
