Sands is still in Murdoc's body. It's nice. He's eating chinese food and watching t.v in his apartment ( Read more... )

Sands is equally confused having woken up naked in bed. He wonders if he blacked out again and missed all the good bits. But it's his body. He knows that right away.
Did he dream that?

Oh wait, now he hears a seriously pissed off Murdoc. Oops.
The agent wraps a sheet around his waist and heads for the door wondering where his pants are. As soon as the thought is completed he trips over them, bundled up on the floor. Fucking teenagers.

He enters the living room, sheet gathered in his hands and the most amused look on his face.
"Right when I had him where I wanted him. I do all the hard work and you reap all the benefits, Mutts."

"I've always wanted you to talk to me more. Now all I want is for you to shut up." When Sands imagined this El was insulting him a lot less and talking about sex, guns, and telling him stories about his shoot outs. So- sex and guns.

"I thought of that. But there's no reason it would make him tell the truth a lot and then make you blabber on. Not to make this about me but I am the odd one out here." Oh, wait! He's been killing alternates of Jack Sparrow. Maybe this thing is affecting him. But he's not going to tell El that. No thank you. Time to test El. The first experiment will be shock. Does El talk more or less when under strain?

He opens the sheet to flash the mariachi. Really, this is just to amuse himself and see how El reacts. He's just as likely to do this on a normal day.

The unexpected nudity does keep El quiet for a moment. This sort of thing is common enough, however, that the transition from shock to annoyance is fairly quick.

"True. You are no stranger than usual. Now put some clothes on. No one is interested in your dick right now. If the same thing is effecting both me and Murdoc, then we need to find out what it is. Heaven help us if it takes hold of you. Though, perhaps it would make you quiet. That could be a nice change."

Sands closes the sheet around his body again, smirking because he's successfully rendered El speechless in annoyance. He really enjoys that.

"Right then. I'm your only hope once again. But as far as I can tell there's nothing horribly wrong. It could be like the body switch and will just go away. But if we wander about in the nexus then who knows what will happen? I think we should all stay put. Mutts? Weigh in on this."

El remains silent, because if he says anything he'll just keep talking. Silence is a strain, though, which is deeply disturbing for him.

Murdoc was enjoying watching them. Or, at least, trying to enjoy it. It was so funny watching them bicker and yet it didn't help his mood at all, really.

"I don't wanna go to the nexus like this. They ask too many questions. It'll probably just go away, right? So..I wanna go home. Gimme a PINpoint or somethin...please? I just want to go home. I'm tired of being here and right now I'm afraid of what I'll say."

Shit. Could have done without that last sentence.

Sands doesn't like this plan.
"Next time I ask for your opinion just say, 'Whatever you think, boss'. I'd rather you stay here when things are fucking up. If it gets too bad I'm fucking off to Mexico and I haven't got the time to find you first. El agrees with me, he just doesn't want to speak."

Sands has no idea how El feels.

"If you take off and leave me I'll be fucking pissed, but I'll survive. I'd just rather be at home if everything's gonna be weird like this. Besides, I miss Stu and I can't just run off on him again because of this. I made promises and I've broken too many already."

Muds swallows miserably and keeps his eyes on Sands. He knows it's probably a bad idea to leave, but he wants to be with people who already know everything about him and where he feels safe.

Finally, El gives up on holding his tongue for the time being.

"I do agree that staying here would be the safest for you, Murdoc. I understand wanting to be somewhere more familiar, however. If you go home, you should just stay there until this passes or we find some kind of solution."

Sands crosses his arms over his chest.
"This is not a fucking democracy. I outrank the both of you."
He's fully aware that neither of them consider this true. He was enjoying being surrounded by the two of them at all times. And being able to see.

But on the other hand, alone time with El is nice.
"Alright. But you should check in, Muds."

"I'll check in, sure. And I'll be back once everything's better. If you need me before then, you know how to get a hold of me. ... I'm taking Stu to New York. I don't wanna be called back from that unless it's an emergency."
Right now, if he says he'll check in? It's a safe bet he fucking means it.

"I really need a PINpoint. And I wanna keep it. It's the only way I have to see Stu alone most of the time. At least until I get my license back."
He hangs his head. This openness is deeply uncomfortable.

The mariachi sighs, regretting the need to say anything at all. He hands his PINpoint over to the boy.

"You can have mine. And you can keep it if you like. Perhaps you'll be less rude in the future as payment? Not that it seems likely. Go home, and be careful. You would look very stupid if you ended up in trouble and called us for help. I sincerely doubt you'd get a very fast rescue."

Sands mouths silently to Murdoc with his back to El.
"I would."

Being rude to El does not warrant a slow rescue. Neither does things going fucked. He'll leave if he has a reason and Murdoc is a good enough reason. Hell, a beer run is a good enough reason so he'll definitely do it for Muds.

"Thanks. I'll remember that."
And it's for both of them. A smile tugs at Murdoc's lips, knowing that Sands would come if he needed him. The nameless, mystery sadness that's dragging him down won't let that grin go very far, but it's still a nice feeling ... even with gravity crushing down on him.

"Like I said...I'm just going home. I'll probably find Stu and take him to the bat cave to hide there until I feel better. Fucking might cheer me up, anyway."
With that, Muds enters coordinates for Stu's house into the PINpoint and disappears.
