We where killing each other in mass well before the invention of the bomb. The tools of death become ever more advanced but truth be told the bloodlust that drives the need to use such tools is older then recorded history....

yeah sorry my faith in humanity isn't the highest I guess

I know that humans are thought of as warmongers but I don't believe everyone is like that. I think it's the people and the leaders that are on the fence about their actions that I wish to deter. Maybe we can't prevent all war, but maybe we can deter it as a solution by making it harder for them to take action....

and, all of a sudden I feel like I'm using the same arguments as the anti-choice people... wow!

Some of us choose to serve. Some of us do not know how we will be used when we say we will serve. Some of us go to far away places to try to show that our country and our people are good and just. And we come back in boxes and with fewer parts than we left with. Some of our scars don't show, and never will, because they are so deep. As a citizen, this is what you ask of us to do. Every citizen, of every country, asks this of some of their compatriots. It cannot be just turned off for some of us. And they are the ones that hurt the deepest, the longest. Shell shock, PTSD, the same affliction muddied by modern terms. We fight for you, in many facets of the word.

Please don't wish something so terrible on those who choose to serve you.
