I have nothing against religion, but I actually hate evangelists with a passion. People who go about and try to force their religion down other people's throats just...anger me. It's the holier than thou attitude, the idea that their religion is better, and the rest - it shows a lot of disrespect for other people, and they don't even realize it. I'm happy in my faith. I'm happy that the evangelizing lady is happy in her faith. I am not happy when she tries to convert me because she thinks my soul needs to be saved since I'm a heathen who doesn't believe in God. That? Not so okay.

THIS. SO MUCH THIS. I'm an agnostic, and while I respect other people's religions, I'm less likely to do so the instant they say, "Have you found Jesus?" or somesuch. -_-;;

And... awwwww. :< Hopefully, you'll get to come back again in the near future.

I don't mind if they try and then I explain that no, I have my own religion, but when they start pushing theirs on me after that I get irrationally angry. XD;

I hope so, maybe next year sometime.

And holy shiiiit the wind here is so strong it just kicked over a bunch of bicycles. D: DNW.

Hrrr. The evangelize over here, too. Maybe it's just where you lived that's the difference? (I have not been to California, but I'm assuming they are less pushy about religion than people in the Midwest are).

Thankfully, where we live now, you have to be buzzed into the building to get to any apartments, so people don't come around trying to talk. It's always supremely uncomfortable for me (lol atheist) and I usually just... lie my way out of things. I either tell them I'm Catholic or that I don't have time to chat. Or... at the old place, I could see the door from the top of the stairs where they could not see me, and pretend I wasn't home.

The stuff with the Jehovah's Witnesses, though. That's just crazy. O.o I'm less polite than you--I would just slam the door in their faces. (My mother always tries to give them her copy of the Catholic Herald when they come around. It's hilarious.)

Maybe. I know that they exist in California, but I've never really had to run into them, save for once. This guy on the street approached me and my mom and asked us if we wanted to go to Heaven. My mom said, "No, I'd prefer Hell." and he was so shocked we got away. XD

They recently installed video camera doorbells at my place so I can at least see who is on the other side now. I just...feel guilty for not saying anything. I'll turn on my shower to make it sound like I'm in there instead. XD

Yeeeah, idk. I was thankfully out at the time and they haven't tried again since, so I'm safe for now.

WTF the Jehovah's witnesses. . . I got bothered by them in Kuse too. They came once after it had snowed, and it was an old woman and a younger woman, and she just tried to come right in. And I was like "UH NO GOOD BYE." and shoved them out the door and locked it. Serious wtf.

Even being a Christian, I am still kinda DNW with the way they cornered you like that. Totally not cool. I would have been uncomfortable!

I don't get why more people don't understand that their religion isn't the right religion for everyone. I believe in God, and I'm more than happy to share my beliefs with people, but I don't really think that means I should shove them down your throat. Gah.

NNNGH, I'm sorry that happened to you. D: They've never done that to me, thankfully. *knock on wood*

Yeah, I have no problem whatsoever with Christianity, it's just the way they tried to corner me in the name of Christ that bugs me. Not so much fun. ._. I think it makes God and Christ sad every time someone makes someone else unhappy in their name. D|

Meh, it happens. I felt bad kicking them out but dude, genkan being "outside" or not, my house then was NEVER a place to visit. I valued privacy and the ability to laze around in my fail. orz

For some reason, all I can think of now is "THE POWER OF CHRIST COMPELS YOU." WTF my brain.

*to lazy to log out of rp journal looool*

Hahaha, same here - my house? Not okay to visit unless you give me at least a 2 day warning.

...we have to exorcise the house of Jehovah's Witnesses??????

fffff, it's okay. I like the butt-pockets. They're mesmerizing.

Have you ever noticed there are more nuns in Japan than back home (Britain, in my case)? What's with that?

I have no idea. Maybe it's something to do when you're not married and want to find a way of life that doesn't involve working? It's also possible that there are more nuns that are visible here? I know in America there are many nuns who don't wear the habit, but in Japan they're all about group identity, so they might still wear it to show presence.
