It's an accidental bump into a 'jack that was patiently waiting. :)
Blackjack is feeling well enough I think he'd like to explore the rest of the house. Need to see about getting him a vet check if he's going to stay much longer. Harriet will be back tomorrow, so he may be leaving soon for a foster-home, we'll see.
Bernese dogs were bred for herding -- my office mate says they are very loving and non-aggressive. Good thing they are sweet, they're BIG, 90-100 lbs. They look like a black/tan/white Newfie with a little border collie markings thrown in.
Most of the big dogs I've met are cool. It's the little ones who have the short tempers. Herding dogs... it all depends on the individual's prey drive. Maybe you could go over and check out the household before saying yes to the adoption... or just let the adoption agency handle that. :-)
I think the Berner dogs are meant to just live with the sheep, not harass them, so hopefully their chase and prey drive won't be too strong. But I'll talk to Harriet and follow her lead - POP is pretty good about picking adoptive families.

Yay for the kitties feeling better! And especially for Blackjack co-operating, there's a reason for the phrase 'herding cats'. :)

And yes, I'm very much like that Batman quote. *blush* Too true!
Changed the kitty's name to Yaddo for now... seemed more "right" for some reason.

Glad to hear the kitties are better. Blackjack must be ecstatic.
A lot of the really big dogs are okay with cats. I don't know the temperament of mountain dogs, though.

My brother's late doberman was the sweetest tempered dog we ever had. The meanest dogs we've had were some of our little poodles.
As for the 'jack, I would be very nervous to be scrutinized so closely!
