I am back down 8 lbs from a high of 240. I am not anywhere near where I need to be, but that's 8 lbs in a week & 1/2- 2 weeks. I'm hopeful I can keep with it. I had a small piece of dark chocolate today, as a reward for being good. When I hit 200, C has agreed I get an amazon shopping spree. I have motivation.

I have a can of coconut milk, and I'm going to make myself a smoothie tomorrow. :) I'm looking forward to it.

I am - at long last! - down nearly to my pre-pregnancy weight, also without being arsed to do much about it except take my thyroid meds and make green smoothies a few times a week.

Monkey has learned how to walk up and down stairs! Well, mostly. He still has a little trouble with down and requires firm hand-holding and occasional catching, because sometimes he decides that he can fly. But it is progress!

In less than a week, I will have a Sooj in my living room! And also many other nifty people! (Wanna catch the bus up? We still have a leeeetle floor space left for overnight guests...)

I have been working this week!

MONKEY ON STAIRS!!!!1! *melt* Maybe you need a broomstick if he's going to insist on being a flying monkey?

also yay thyroid meds. I <3 thyroid meds!

And I *wish* I could come up for sooj. I don't have that kind of time & energy now. But... I will think on a visit. I could sure use a change of scene. And the last couple of long (2-3hr) car trips were handled well with a combination of protein and copious ginger candies.

You can come up anytime. Seriously, I have hardly anything going on that can't be worked around, so if you find yourself wanting to get out of town, even on short notice, just give me a call. Worst case scenario is you come along to a doctor appointment or something like that, and I think you'd like my doctors. :p

My day was awesome! And that's saying something for me in February! I went to my internship at the Poets House, which is a poetry library.... so cool!!! And I shelved books! And yes, I totally read poems as I went. Snacking on poetry.

They were having a big shindig there with lots of board of directors type people. Catered with sandwiches. One of which I have for my dinner.
But that's not the best part. I walked by Cornelius Eady (a talented poet, who is DAMN handsome in the bargain) and got to grin at him cheerfully, and he nodded and smiled back.
But that? Also not the best part!

Saw one of my favorite profs from college- he was doing digital stuff before it was trendy everywhere. And we got back in touch, and he'll be great to talk to about digital library grad school things.

Off to eat sandwiches.

Also- be proud of me, I'm doing Qi Gong DVDs a couple times a week. And slowly, slowly getting the hang of it! Though I think I go too fast with the moves still.

Nifty. Old connections are good! qi gong is extra nifty and will keep you sane through grad school. :)
