IMO, comma is better than space and offers more flexibility: but then, that's imo.

I think agree with you there. It's having to switch between the two systems that's a pain.

Well yes. I've used both systems myself and expected the pace, but imagine my surprise when it turned out to be the comma. It does take some adjusting to though
