Welcome to the end of this wretched week

Welp. Thanks to Sen Flake, this wretched week of news will be stretching into another week of wretched news, with pundits continuing to shift the goalposts on their conditinal support of the right kind of sexual assault victims bemoaning the nonexistent consequences her abuser will suffer. On the bright side, that does mean that the feds will end ( Read more... )

So thrilled that the book was so to your tastes! I recommend it a lot but so far no one i know of has taken me up on it until now!

Glad music could bring solace. I had a sad music moment today - the guy who headed up our community band foe so many years passed away yesterday and I found out today. He had recently stepped back for health reasons (he's pretty on up there) but I didn't realize it was that bad.

I can't hardly look at the news oe social media right now. The world needs to burn at this point.

*hugs you* I'm so sorry to hear about your friend's passing. We lost two of our alto nation in the past few months, one to a long struggle with MS, and one to a newer bout of breast cancer. It's so hard to lose those who have helped enrich your life with music. *ore hugs*

Yeah, social media sucks. I'm glad that most of the people I know are on my side of things.

And YES!! I loved Scorpio Races so much taht I am making Mr. 42 read it, as he's really not getting into the Big Important Book he started, and I think he'll love it, too!

It is. I'm going to try to go to the memorial service this weekend. I'm everything sitting but the animals should be fine for a few hours. He was just the pillar of the band.

It's just I have such a varied amount of people it's a bit unavoidable.

Yay! Let me know what he thinks. Also I think you might like a book called The Sineater's Daughter. I want to reread it but I remember finding it fascinating. (It might have a sequel now. I'm not sure. But it's a book that stuck on my head. If I can fit it into book bingo for book club I'm going to do it soon)

A sack of dicks, to be sure.

Accurate.

And serious kudos to you, re: facebook. You're braver than I am; I'm glad people have been supportive.

*hugs* I don't feel that brave, especially compared to those being pilloried for speaking up against men in power. It took an awful lot of my friends being brave and telling their stories, plus many, many years of figuring WTF actually happened to me before I had any words to use to talk about it, much less any fit to speak in public. I think it was more being so completely fed up that I couldn't not speak.
