This is one of those realizations that I've known for quite some time, but the full implications never really sank in until today.

The deadline for Fragments of Life's Heart (Shameless plug time!) is a month and a half away, yet there are already over twenty stories submitted with more promised and on the way. It's set to go on sale at Anthrocon

I think it goes without saying (but I am, apparently, going to say anyhow) that right now is an *amazing* time to be a small/different/independent/niche (or even mainstream) author. It's a glorious time to be alive, for both authors and readers! Two thumbs up for getting stuff out there, and I hope you continue to do so!

...also, let me know if you ever have a book you need typeset. *grins wryly*

I agree! I remember the first time I heard of the self-pub market, and saw the costs for getting prints of your book made. It emphasized how you have to have money to make money. These days though, it's not nearly as painful, and has allowed for a far wider variety of books we might not have otherwise ever had the opportunity to read. Quite exciting indeed!
