Part 1 of I missed pod-aware :(

Nov 27, 2011 21:46

I completely and totally missed the actual pod_aware event, and this made me really down when I realised, becasue I am endlessly amazed at depth of insightful meta that podfic generates. I am not nearly as articulate as revolutionaryjo or podklb, in fact I am pretty much terrible at stringing two words together when I have to come up with them myself, but I still thought that I would belatedly contribute anyway.

If you've ever listened to one of my freetalks/commentaries at the end of my podfics, you know what to expect: frequent umming and ahhing, endless ramblings, needless repetition, and me taking ages to get to the damn point. And I'm not gonna lie guys, some of this stuff veers off course wildly, gets kind of weirdly heavy and personal and may actually offend you because I don't filter out my thoughts and therefore probably sound incredibly ignorant. So here, for your listening pleasure(?)....

Lunchee's belated pod-aware ramblings!

Quick 45 second intro:

Podfic 101/Why I podfic (8.3 MB, 10 min), wherein I talk about never being able to live up to the text that I'm reading, and a little bit about about my pod set up:

Blanket Permission (14.6MB, 18 min), wherein I go on for an embarrassingly long time about how it makes me feel towards authors, how it makes me feel towards fics, how I was totally rude to jerakeen and how awesome betas are and how awesome revolutionaryjo is:

Author/Podficcer Relationships (14.7MB, 18 min), wherein I compare authors to whoever wrote the bible, my sad sack social skills, getting nice feelings when authors like things, protecting yourself when things go wrong and repeating "podficcers, protect yourself!" a whole lot:
