I have a decently-sized group of local friends who are also fannish, and I also happen to know that revolutionaryjo (and possibly lunate8?) live in the area as well, so perhaps we could even have a podficcing meet-up?
Tourist attractions include the Mall Of America (the largest shopping Mall in the U.S.), and, uh...IDK, the city The Mary Tyler Moore Show was filmed in? The area Marshall from How I Met Your Mother is from? Also, you would actually be in the country for our annual fantasy/sci-fi convention here, CONvergence, which is the largest SF/F con in the upper Midwest, and is generally awesome. It's a lot less "meet actors and get autographs!" than Comic-Con--it's all by-fans-for-fans, and generally has an air of "let's all get together and celebrate our collective geekiness! :DDD" (there is a Slash Panel that both revolutionaryjo and I will be on!) so that's pretty sweet. Oh my god, the view of the Weisman from the bridge, JUST before sunset during autumn is possibly one of my favorite views of anything, anywhere, ever. The way the light hits the metal building? SO UN-FUCKING-BELIEVABLY PRETTY O.o
(Also, fun fact about the Weisman: it was basically Frank Gehry's test-run for the Guggenheim Museum in Bibao!)

The Weisman is funky-looking, and doesn't fit with the rest of the University buildings, but it does look beautiful if you come at the right time. And wow, I never knew about that fun fact. :D
Really, Minnesota's a fun place when you think about it. It doesn't have the best tourists attractions, but there are always things you can do to make up for it, especially if you're with a local. LOL

Contact me for details and dates - we have a spare room, although the bed is crappy. :(
Last time I looked, SDCC was entirely sold out - I am so tempted to leave my comfort zone and go on an adventure, but it wasn't going to happen I guess.

Thank you so much for your generous offer!! If it's alright with you, could I get back to you on this? Someone has offered to potentially put me up in Toronto, which I think is quite close to you? If it pulls through, then maybe we could still meet up while I am in town?? If it falls through, then I will definitely PM you to see if you are still up for it. You're lovely for offering!!

We have a joke, that Brits measure distance in kilometres, Americans measure distance in miles, and Canadians measure distance in hours. Toronto is about 4.5 hours from Ottawa - we go there for the weekend quite often since distance doesn't scare Canadians - we're huge!!! - but it's not just up the road for dinner or anything.
Keep me in mind! I'm really enjoying making friends in Merlin fandom.

4 hours, you say? That's...not quite as close as I would have hoped... :(
Merlin is quite the lovely, friendly fandom! I'm a bit rubbish at it (I'm a horrible]y tardy online correspondent!!!! horrible!!!) but I don't think I've seen anyone around that isn't awesome :) I'll definitely inform you one way or the other! Thank you ♥
