I think it sounds like it was a lovely race. But Big Brown's feet worry me. This post which I read last week, I think it was, worried me - all that speed, great, but it's on top of hooves held together by epoxy and whatnot? So I'd like to hear what others think... is breeding stallions with feet like this - even if he's apparently sound - a responsible act? I'm still making up my own mind, but I spend a lot of my time these days around a lot of sound, barefoot horses, some of them TB or half TB, so I know it's not just the "weak TB hooves"....
Eh, I hope Big Brown is beat in the Preakness. I refuse to put him on the same level as Slew and Secretariat (et al).
It's already been said on Bloodhorse.com several times over that he won't race past this year. I will not be surprised at all if the Belmont is his final race. Nothing like deciding a horse is great with only 7 starts.
