So, for my Religion in Culture and Society class, we have to write a book review.  This involves picking a book (an ethnography, specifically), reading it, and then writing a 4-5 page paper reviewing the book and the author's take on the culture/religion.  The last one I did was on Vodou and its ties to Roman Catholicism.  I'm doing the next one ( Read more... )

The class itself is one of those where the teacher doesn't realize that you have other classes. My first three Thursdays in November are as follows: Take a test over stuff I didn't read and get a 93! FTW!; Give a lengthy group presentation on Vodou; turn in that paper I mentioned. Just for one class. In three weeks. IT's ridiculous. *sigh*

But the new book is pretty cool. I'm actually learning a lot from it!

Thanks. But things aren't looking too good right now. I hate group projects. Depending on others isn't a strength of mine.

I've known he was Satan since his hair started doing things at conventions.

Well ... before that, even. But still.

This is utterly priceless. What even.

That's right. The spontaneous horns. How could I have forgotten?

It was still a wonderful find in the text.

*rubs his face all over me* Don't mind me. Advil makes fever reducer/decongestants now, and they apparently make me loopy (enough to admit that I have teeth in my mouth) and spark random conversations with the roomies about creating a Mark Pellegrino skin suit complete with face!herpes. My life sometimes.

He is the Devil. How insane! I've never heard that either.

Also- I have to tell you this even though it has nothing to do with this entry because Mark is always relevant: this guy came into the place where I worked who looked SO MUCH LIKE MARK that I literally had to see his ID to make SURE it wasn't him. I mean, his voice was way different so I was pretty sure, but the entire time I was like, "OMG. OMG." It was SO freaky weird. Thought I'd share? /random
