I hadn't either until a few years ago! We saw one in our flowers and HAD to know what it was.

I was out hiking with friends about 4 years ago. We were on a heavily flowered hill side. One of those little guys came flying past, we all said "hummingbird!" at once.. then.. "no.. wait.. *what* IS that?"

Looked it up when I got home, and it was one of those guys! Very cool!

Aren't they awesome? I didn't know that they existed until a few years ago when we saw one out in our flowers.

There was part of the trails up to Wildcat Canyon that had the hummingbird grove. It was a set of about a dozen tall eucalyptus trees that must have hosted ten thousand humming bird nests. In seasons, hiking up that canyon was almost dangerous with the air just abuzz with birds. It was pretty amazing! I miss seeing the hummybirds every day.

That moth is one of the wildest things I've ever seen, though!

I think that the little hummingbirds are one of the most curious of any kind of birds. They have to check out EVERYTHING. They are soooo darned CUTE.

Whoa! Very cool! I never knew such a thing existed. It's sort of furry body gives me the heebie jeebies but still it's very cool. When I read your post and I got to the part where it says what kind of music you're listening to, I was reading quickly and at first I thought it said something about Robert figuring out where to plant Kevin's pants! :) I said HUH?

Oh yeah... Kevin's pants!!! Hahahahaha They are actually some of his pretty iris plants.

Those little moths are tiny, cute, and totally harmless. There is no need for the heebie jeebies.
