I volunteered to take my nephew to the retro gaming expo today. SO MUCH GEEKINESS!  Costumes, old games, bad junk food, couches and old tvs, oh my. All the awkward people in one place!

League last night. I ran Seeger feo and Mayzie got to sub for someone. The course was perfect for her, she aced them both. And she so wanted to play! She has become ( Read more... )

The retro gaming expo sounds fun! Especially for people watching! :)

I think feo ruined league. Way to many dogs/handlers not ready for prime time and since the feo's aren't on teams they are flaky about showing up and taking their turn to work jobs. It became a weekly fun match instead of a trial like experience with some pressure with the support of seasoned teams. I think the dogs would be more prepared if it went back to no feo.

I agree with Bonnie. I dreaded the grand list of FEOs. I loved the FG barn league teams - same people each year with the new dogs and their old ones - no strict rota on jobs just people doing the job they could do best - just food rotated.

I also think that the intent changed and the competition between the clubs has forced the idea of only running the best. I don't want to play in league any more and haven't for about the last 3 years.

Yeah, I too miss the good old days of league - not the same at all anymore, haven't done it in years.

Too bad, though you practice enough to help your dogs out, most don't.

When i still had a work shced that allowed me to do league, i still stopped entering a team and just ran as a sub. Feo was very annoying.

I agree. I want to see novice teams get some spot light. If they ask for input (or even if they don't :-P I'm going to send my thoughts to the board.
