If any of you wish to participate in this year's finish-a-thon and DO NOT have a Dreamwidth login, can you PLEASE attempt to fill in this poll on the Dreamwidth community, and post here to say whether you were able to do so? I need to know whether it is possible for someone using OpenID can fill in a poll or not, or whether a Dreamwidth login is

I filled out the poll earlier as I was logged in to my DW account (Linaewen). I tried logging out and then attempting to fill it out and I couldn't do it without signing in. So I signed in with the Open ID I got from you when you switched this community over to DW and I filled out the poll as lin4gondor (sorry, I got two votes in!)

So it looks like Open ID works, but you still have to log in to DW before the poll is accessible. Hope this experiment provides you with some info!

Thanks.

When you say you "couldn't do it without signing in", what exactly do you mean? That you couldn't see the poll?

Do you think you could list, step by step, what you did in order to vote in the poll with OpenID, so that I can put it into the FAQ?

I was able to see the poll, but it was showing the results; in order to fill it out I clicked on Poll #9679, then I chose Fill out Poll -- then it took me to the main DW page as an indication that I needed to sign in. So I used the Login with Open ID option and that let me in. This worked for me, but when I tried to repeat it in order to list the step-by-step method, it didn't take me back to the poll page ( ... )

I guess if this is used for general instructions on how to vote in a poll, the "Continue to http://multific" link will be different according to the post ID, but I imagine it's still the same method for getting back to the poll or post you are trying to gain access to.
