One of Jamie's
duplicates finally decides to check in.
"You're a what?!"
The duplicate Jamie winced and pulled the phone away from his ear before replying. "You heard me."
"Of all the things you could have chosen, you chose this?"
The duplicate sighed and rubbed his forehead. "Look, we needed to learn agility and develop our acrobatic skills right? Well these guys are five time national champions. And where else is a teenager going to learn this kind of thing?"
"Fine." said the sullen voice at the other end of the line. "Just for the love of God, don't tell Guido."
A blonde girl from across the gymnasium floor waved at the duplicate to hurry up. "Jamie! C'mon! We have to do the routine for Missy before we can even start on the Wolf's Wall!"
"It won't be an issue," he said waving back at the blonde girl. "By the way I'm sorry it took two weeks to contact you. The connection between this place and Fandom seems really weird and none of the phones seem to work."
"You've only been gone a couple of days."
"I have?"
"Yeah."
"Weird."
"Time must move differently wherever you are. How much longer are you going to be there?"
"I was going to finish off the school year. Hopefully our team can get back to nationals."
*snort*
"Whatever. I better go before Torrance blows a gasket."
The duplicate said goodbye and hung up the phone. He then wandered back to the gymnasium floor where the blonde girl and the rest of the team took up their positions and began to chant and dance.
