Clone! They dont have belly buttons, cuz they are not born. Very coooool! I really like how down to earth the setting is, the mothers and children at the park, very nice.

Very interesting! Who would have thought that clones don't have belly buttons... now you can tell them apart from the rest of the people... Good thing to know! ;)

I was wondering why they couldn't have surgically have given him a belly button if they could make a complete human copy.

Davey's parents didn't feel that they should put their precious new child through the pain of surgery for purely aesthetic reasons. This was in an earlier iteration of the story, but it felt too much like an info-dump. Maybe it was short-sighted of them, maybe it was far-sighted of them :D
