I am pretty certain that Tom & Brian are driving. Brian may have more details on that. Someone could call my wedding planner for advice on where to stay. It is part of her fee so might as well use it! :) I will tell you that she recommended Sanibel Moorings to my family. They are condos. The web site is www.sanibelmoorings.com There is an ordinance on Sanibel Island that restricts rentals to at least a 30 day rental. No weekly rentals. However, Captiva Island, to the west, does offer weekly house rentals. Patricia Slater is my planner. She is at 800-808-2163.
Also, if you can only stay a few days, my planner may be able to get you a basic room at a hotel. I know she mentioned to me about a Country Inn & Suites right before the causeway to get onto Sanibel Island. I think she may be able to get a cheaper rate, but you have to book through her. If you have any questions for me, just ask.
i typed your wedding site into google maps and looked at the overhead image of it on the satelite--very cool! when i typed in hotels near there, it came up with mostly ones in naples, about 25-30 miles from casa ybel. another thing to consider.
We're flying. We can only take a week off and I don't want to spend half of my vacation driving. So we're flying. I'd like for all of us to try and stay together, I think that would be the most fun.
Well, Tom can't with his DJ equipment, and I refuse to put my camera equipment under the plane.. so we're driving. Others are welcome to join if they like.

I may have a somewhat more light weight solution for the DJ setup. I will see about borrowing a smaller setup from a pal of mine that will make the DJ equiptment the size of a duffel bag.
