Of interest to me...

When I say a word that begins with a "dr" such as "drought" or "dry", I use a 'j' sound rather than a 'd' sound, so that it's more like "jrought" or "jry". Does everyone else do this too?

It actually sounds a bit strange to use the 'd' sound.

I'm going to Bermuda tomorrow. So excited.

I mean, have you ever heard anyone pronounce it like that? or any word that starts with a D-R?

What about "These aren't the droids you're looking for."

I seem to remember Alec Guinness being very articulate. And I don't mean using a "duh-roids" kind of articulation. Just a non-j sound. A very, very fast duh sound if you will.

That's what you're supposed to do. You're supposed to use the "j" sound. And Alec Guinness can use whatever sound, "j" or "dr" if wants cause he's fucking Obi Wan Kenobi. You just don't question the man.

Try saying the word "tree" or any tr- word without making a "ch" sound.

Convoluted English language. No wonder everyone has trouble with it. Nothing is phonetic!
