I kinda wanted to see more protections too, since the ring and the locket were under such cool spells. I think the cup was the only one she really failed to talk about though. The snake was well, a snake. And I LOVED the way it went. The diam was burned by the fiendfyre, and didn't require human intervention to destroy, which I kind of thought was cool, and kind of thought was a copout.
And yeah, no info in the Epilogue. Who's Heaadmaster? What does Harry do for a living? Ron (Ron could be a UPS driver from the info Rowling left us...)? Hermione? Etc etc etc..
Basically, yeah, those thoughts echo a lot of my own. I think the big thing to remember with regard to the Horcruxes is that Voldemort, in his arrogance, thought incorrectly that he knew things that no other wizard would be able to discover. One of his greatest failings is his apparent inability to conceive of another wizard discovering his secrets. I mean, really, he must have been deluded to think that he was the only one aware of the Room of Requirement! He might have placed Horcruxes under less magical protection for fear of wizards like Dumbledore finding the traces of magic left behind, as he did in the cave

Yea, I enjoyed the book. Honestly, the Hogwarts battle lasted too long for me. I agree with Matt about the Ron/Herm. relationship.
I really like Snape's story. I've always felt sympathetic towards him, so I am glad he wasn't evil (I could never believe that he was). I would like to know what Umbridge's deal was. Is she just a bitch? Did she know the locket was a horcrux? What happened to the Dursleys? Yea, what are their jobs? If you are going to give an epilogue---then make it count!
