I am sorry I haven't been too active around these parts recently. Life has been keeping me away from the keyboard.

But here's something in response to my Drabble Request Challenge for mneme_forgets. It took too long, so I decided to make it longer than a drabble. I hope you like it.

The theme was Auron, Tidus, mentor.

Thanks so much for the nitpicking! You would make an amazing beta reader, you know that? :)

I am glad you liked it. I was a bit nervous setting it in Zanarkand, because I'm still not sure what my Auron will *do* there, precisely. Ten years seems like a long time for such a warrior as him to spend in a relatively peaceful and modernized city. So I cheated and made him as confused as me. :)

I am sure Auron would find something productive to do wherever he was. I am really not sure what I think the dream Zanarkand is like actually. Heh, I don't think that was cheating. I would imagine even someone as sharp as Auron might have difficulty adjusting to such an enormous change.

Hmm, nothing I can say that Mneme didn't already cover, I think. Very nice, it would be great to see a series of shorts on the development of the foster-father/son relationship Auron and Tidus get going.

I actually have an entire possible arc simmering that's set in Zanarkand, but most of it is before Jecht made his way to Spira. My fiction Red & Black will eventually explore the Tidus/Auron relationship as it develops in Zanarkand, however.
