Well, this story got me doing a little writing of my own. It's not long, or particularly good, but I haven't had such a good night for writing in a while.

This is beautiful. So true to all of them but especially to Wakka. Really a lovely story.

Thank you. And erm, this *might* have been the story that had me grilling certain people over AIM on their FFX2 canon-knowledge a coupla weeks ago!

Waaah. You went and grabbed our guts right at the opening, and that little wisp of white hair is a quick warning of what's coming.

(Nitpick: period goes inside quotes with "I'll let them know.")

I love the idea that the Spirans have become more attached to things now that they don't have to worry about losing them so much. But sapphire would indeed disturb poor Wakka; it's not her color.

(Nitpick: "He didn't like the gaudiness of the new ceremony." I thought the "he" was still referring to the male subject of the last paragraph, Vidina.)

---

Ooo, that brief glimpse of both of them, Wakka being sweet in his doofus way, letting her know his little brother likes her even when Lu is being rather cranky and offputting -- the clumsily painted lipstick is a brilliant touch ( ... )

*Discreetly corrects the nitpicks*

Alas, such slips can happen when the file inexplicably corrupts in mid-beta, requiring sketchy recovery processes!

Thank you. I've never written from Wakka's POV, and I really hoped to do him justice.

This is so gorgeous. Especially the scene with Lulu lying in the grass under the sun -- it really melts that icy, distanced feel given to her in the rest of the scenes. I liked how you also gave insight into reactions towards change by the people who were brought up under the tyrrany of Sin. They were only young when they brought about the change, but it seems to them as if they'd lived a lifetime with the worry of defeat, and the strength of hope -- they've never fully managed to shake it off, and it's lovely that you've acknowledged their being set in their ways and so strongly tied to the desperate together-ness and bravery and honour of their youth. *love*

Thank you. By the by, this fic may or may not have been sparked by Neutal Milk Hotel. But for now we are young/Let us lay in the sun? Erm, yeah!

What exceeding fine work! You have encapsulated a life and an entire culture with great skill and compassion. Each word is exactly chosen and set into place to make this mosaic a thing of great beauty. I cannot think when I have read a work which was so elegantly composed and executed. Thank you.

Thank you; you are too kind. Emphasis on the "too kind" bit, seriously!
