Hmm...

No official casting announcements yet, but according to this picture it looks like Ume-chan is playing Rosalie in soragumi's BeruBara next year.  (Or at the very least, a traditional musumeyaku role.  And in Andre Hen is there anyone else it could be other than Rosalie?)

Part of me feels annoyed on both Ume's (and Ayane-chan's) behalf.  It would ( Read more... )

Well, the dress is in fact the one originally worn by La Marquise de Pompadour.
And having no fringe is rather untypical for Rosalie, she always has a fringe.
On the other hand, I don't know who Ume-chan could be playing.
It's not Marie Antoinette, that would be more obvious and there's no contact at all between André and her.
The only women in is life are in fact Rosalie and Oscar.
And in the former André version of Rose of Versailles, the top musumeyaku was Rosalie as well. We'll see. And I'm curious. :D

Wow, I'm impressed at your dress identification.

Do you think that they would bring a new lead musumeyaku character into the BeruBara canon for this show?

There *is* a certain rather infamous scene in Berubara where Oscar wears a dress and.... Ume's eyebrows. They're rather thick and dark for a typical musumeyaku role.... *grins* I'm not going to rule out the possibility yet.

On the other hand, Ueda certainly jerked us around enough with Ayane. I doubt it'll happen. :/

My counter-argument is that Oscar wigs are always an anime-like yellow-blonde hue, whereas Ume-chan's wig is a more natural blonde.

No, if they were going to give Ume-chan Oscar, they would have made a big deal about it, I think...

But Katharina's comment makes me doubt my initial "well of COURSE it's Rosalie" line of thinking.

*grumble* I wish they would just announce who the leads are. And the rest of the casting for both shows.

Hmmm...actually, I was wondering if Ume's blonde hair could mean that she would be Oscar. But you would think that if she was Oscar, they would want to market it that way?

I. DON'T. WANT. ANYONE. TO. PERFORM. IN. ANY. OF. BERUBARA. "GAIDEN". WRITTEN. BY. UEDA.

(Actually all Micchan fans I know of want her to be cast in Gyakuten Saiban, and they lament because there is only a slim chance of that to happen.)

Honestly, I'm not really a BeruBara fan, but after Gyakuten Saiban was announced with Tomu in the lead, I resigned myself to Micchan performing in BeruBara :/

However, there is some amount of honor to being given a role that's one of the most notable in Takarazuka history (Oscar). Also, it amuses me to think of Micchan 1) in her second female role, and 2) paired together with Tani.

I guess I'm trying to make lemons in lemonade? ^_^;;

Uh...if you had been to one of those 90-min Gaiden BeruBara (Yuki or Hana) -_-;...

I hope in this "Andre-hen" Oscar will be given a decent stage time & character.

I wonder if they'll *ever* let a musumeyaku play Oscar. *pouts*

But hey, Tani looks awesome ^_^

At least Ai-chan got to play Jackie in MiiMai? I thought that was a good step for Musumeyaku Rights.

I feel like making an icon out of this promo picture pronto, :D!

As for the Musume however, I think this could be a new character since Rosalie already has her own show with her own true love(Bernard hen).

I am not slowly turning into a Sora fan, I am not.
