Why don't kids respect me? Why don't they take responsibility for thier actions? Why is it always "It was him as well Miss" or "I didn't do it"?

I feel like I'm trying so hard, but there must be something missing. Or I'm just not good enough.

Kids just dont want to get in trouble. Its one thing to be caught misbehaving in front of their parents.. but in front of a stranger is a bigger thing and kids dont think before they do things... its not you.. seriously. Its their age and the way their parents raise them to act around other people.

Yeah just about the only thing I've found that works is threatening to call home... They might not be bothered about upsetting me, but they are all scared of Daddy!

Dudes! You got a take a page from William Wallace's book "Is that what being a noble means to you? Men don't follow a title, they'll follow courage."

And as one of those annoying little brats that you are complaining about belive me when I say - it's not you. But yeah, you have to give them something to respect.

There's something to be said for corporeal punishment, eh! Try the old marines trick - One member of the unit fucks up - they all get disciplined. And I know it's hard. I can't imagine being a teacher - I freaked out when I cancelled swimming that time and made the kids "sit and think about how to behave in the water" (seriously. Casey and Raisin had to calm me down 'cause I thought it was a bullshit thing to do and wanted to let them back in the water. Thank god for the fact that they were products of Chief 'cause it worked.)

So uh....I know that's not what you want to hear and I do think you're incredibly brave for chosing that profession, but kids don't owe you anything and respect need to be earned.

No I appreciate that, but it really hard. They all complain lessons are boring but everytime we try to do something fun or an experiment they just piss about and get me mad. Grrrrrrrr!

But today I'm feeling much better. One of the kids I'd orignally had a bit of trouble with said "you're alright Miss, its getting better now we know you a bit"

Plus only 3 lessons tomorrow... and then the weekend! Yay for the days beginning with S!
