We've invited some MPs (Ruth Dyson, Nicky Wagner and others to be confirmed) to speak on religious diversity and settlement of new migrants at our next interfaith meeting. I plan to ask them about the immigration bill, and how they expect it to impact their support among Muslim voters.

Anyone's welcome to come along. Saturday, 16 August from 6:30 - 8:30 pm at the Refugee & Migrant Centre, 201 Peterborough Street. (entrance from the parking lot)

I think it's also going to be a serious issue for Iranian Christians who would face torture if returned to their home. Particularly in regard to their indefinite detention.

I very much wish I could be with you, thank you so much for bringing this issue up with them. I hope all faiths get together to work against this bill.

Haven't heard about this... I really need to keep up to date with the news, haven't really been since moving up here. Bad Kirsty!

Sounds pretty messed up to me. I really don't know who I'm going to vote for in this election... they're all as bad as each other!

*sigh*

Anyway on an unrelated note how are you?

Well other than on Scoop, it hasn't even been on the news much. That worries me, given how much power this bill would give the state.
