I think that even if someones not into the movie, then they should leave or still stay quiet cause others might still be watching. Its kind of a polite or respectful thing to do.
But ONLY about the MOVIE itself. Comments that if I wait until it is over, it will be too late.
1) When I miss a line because I can't understand what they said. Accents are a big part of this for me... 2) To simply say things like, "Whoa," "WOW," "Oh, my!" "Wasn't that amazing?" Short, to the point, and not covering up the next lines of important dialogue. 3) I might also ask a question that, again, if I wait until the movie is over, it would be too late to ask...
Noisy kids and cell phones have been known to piss me off as well.
Ummmm.... Am I wrong, or wasn't La Vie En Rose in French? As in subtitled. As in how then could the talking have covered up dialogue? Just asking... I think I know "Oui," and that is just about it in French.
The fact of it being subtitled isn't the point, it was still very annoying. I'm the type that really focuses solely on the movie and only the movie. I do like to interact with the people I'm watching with but a movie like that, a drama or psychological thriller needs my complete attention. Little quick comments are ok but seriously, having a conversation about your day during a movie is really disrespectful and I usually get super annoyed with it. And it wasn't all in French...almost all, I'd say 92%.
I don't care if it is in the theatre, or watching it at home with a group of friends - if you're getting together to watch a movie - you watch the movie! if it is on DVD and you NEED to talk - pause it, talk it out, and move on.
gosh - maybe that is why I'm single?
but I'm the same way at the Opera, Ballet, Theatre, Orchestra - any sort of performance. Even rock bands - I will not talk during a song, and i think it is rude for those who don't think of others.
however, I would never do what my friend Michelle does which would be to turn to the person talking and shush them, or tell them to shut up. I would grin and bear it ;-) that said - La Vie...good movie!

It really depends on what you're watching.
