About once a year, sometimes for a month, occasionally for longer, I would take an LJ hiatus. It could've been prompted by various things--the desire to live in "Real Life" more fully, a REALLY boring stretch with nothing to write about, the flourishing of my anti-social flower garden--but it always ended. Thanks! :) I've started looking at other options, and will certainly let you and everyone else here know. I already have a DW account which allows reposting here, but I think I'd like to play with a few sites before making a final decision.

Thanks, and I'll definitely let you know. Summers tend to be busy times for me, conferences and such, but if I can find a new blogging place, I'd definitely like to get some writing in. :)

I've done a website on WordPress, and I know some people who use it for blogging, but I don't know how readable their interface is. Their help section is a good deal more helpful, though.

I hate it when people leave LJ, even though I understand every one of your frustrations and hate the changes too.

How about Dreamwidth? You can post over there and crosspost to LJ, and people can comment on either. But the user-interface on Dreamwidth is friendlier.

By now, you know that I haven't left, but I'll still say, "Thanks!" It was a close thing there for a while, but if nothing else, I have too much invested in friends here to just leave without ANY forwarding address. :)
