This is a very useful line to my own life past: Choice is an act of will; even if you don't like the selection options, you still exercise the power of selecting one of them.

I really liked the phrasing of if not Yes and No, then This and That.

(I have a visceral reaction to people who overhype the "everything is your choice" stuff, but this talked to the idea of acknowledging your own power within the frame of choices you have left without saying it is somehow your fault.)
